Designed by Studio Astori De Ponti Associati, along with 3 architects and in collaboration with Art Container, a two-story home since named Green Frame House, was created out of 6 shipping containers. With one of the original cargo doors being used as an entrance, floor to ceiling windows being cut out of the steel and a number of energy efficient materials having been used, it’s a shame that this structure was built inside a warehouse, purely to explore sustainable design options. Because of this, it is hard to know whether the solar photovoltaic system or the small-scale wind turbine built in to the structure does the jobs it is intended to do, but, it sounds good in theory! It has a nice modern touch to it without losing that ‘eco’ feel!
